Fitting It All In

Meal prepping is a beautiful thing! Once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder how you ever survived without it.

For me, a crucial aspect of meal prepping is getting organized. This means before I step foot in the grocery store, I want to have all of my containers washed and ready to go.

There are so many options for food storage; it can be overwhelming. So here are some tips to help you get started.

First off, I recommend using glass storage containers for food prepping. Many studies have revealed potential harmful health effects when microwaving food in plastic, so microwaving in glass means you’re in the clear.

Glass containers also last forever and are easy to clean. Look for a variety of sizes with interlocking lids.

Also, make sure to invest in enough containers to last you all week. The more containers you have that have the same lids will also help reduce frustration when prepping. Try to buy just a single brand of containers to help cut the clutter.

When it comes to containers, size matters, look for containers that are 6-9 inches long, 6-9 inches wide, and 2-3 inches deep. You may also need smaller pots for sauces, snacks, and sides.

You also want to make sure your containers are travel-friendly, so you don’t experience any spills along the way.
